Youth Justice Community Support Service

YJCSS provides intensive support to Youth Justice Clients who present with a range of complex and varied needs that require an individualised service response. The program has been developed to complement the statutory case management undertaken by Youth Justice Units.

YJCSS can help with things like…..

Finding a Job, Education or Training

  • Assistance to enrol in training programs
  • Assistance to complete resumes and employment applications
  • Advocacy with training providers and employers

Accessing Income and Managing Finances

  • Assistance with obtaining 100 points of Identification
  • Assistance with opening a bank account
  • Assistance/advocacy with Centrelink
  • Budgeting support

Connections to Family and Community

  • Assistance to maintain links with family
  • Help to access Health Services including Alcohol and other Drug services, Mental Health programs
  • Support to access community and recreational activities

Options for appropriate Housing/Accommodation

  • Assistance with Office of Housing applications
  • Assistance with accessing private rentals
  • Assistance in developing independent living skills
  • Referral for Youth Justice Transitional Housing (if eligible)

Court Support / Legal Issues

  • Information regarding legal orders
  • Advocacy with solicitors
  • Assistance whilst attending Court
  • Support to comply with Youth Justice Order
  • Assistance to reduce recidivism
  

Referrals - All referrals must be made through Youth Justice, Department of Justice and Regulation
